 4th SAIHCM CONFERENCE - 30 & 31 OCTOBER 2008

THEME: INSPIRATIONAL LEADERSHIP

The South African Institute of Health Care Managers (SAIHCM) is inviting managers from all sectors of the health care environment to its 4th annual conference at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria on 30 and 31 October, 2008.

SAIHCM is a Section 21 not-for-profit company that promotes new levels of professionalism, preparedness and effectiveness of health care management in the country.

The theme for this Conference is Inspirational Leadership. It will explore the role that successful health care managers play to positively influence and shape their work environment to resolve the country’s health care challenges in the most productive manner.

Leadership challenges will be addressed in the context of:

  • Improving efficiency of health care delivery within current constraints
  • Dealing with the expectations about health care delivery into the future
  • Developing leaders with vision
  • Optimising available human and financial resources across all sectors to respond to the country’s health care needs
  • Identifying and developing the potential of others
  • Ethical and moral obligations

 The target audience of the Conference includes managers in the health care environment in both the private and public health care sector.

 The intention of the conference is to establish a greater awareness of the need to continuously develop the management skills of as many health care professionals as possible to effectively address the health care needs of the country.

 SAIHCM will also announce the winners of its annual Top Ten Influential Leaders in Health Care Management at the Conference on 31 October.
